JULY FOURTH CONCERT PERFORMANCE
The Salute to Valor Music Festival will culminate in an awe-inspiring performance on Thursday, the 4th of July in Pearl Harbor, on the deck of the USS Missouri where the documents that ended World War II were signed. This evening concert will prelude the area’s regularly scheduled firework display over the harbor, celebrating the 236th Anniversary of our nation’s birth.
The concert will feature a repertoire selected by the Artistic Director and appropriate for the national holiday. The exact repertoire will be determined and announced when the final compliment of participating ensembles has been confirmed and assessed. As the performance area aboard the ship is confined relative to other performance venues, the total number of performers is limited. However, all Salute to Valor Music Festival participants will be invited to the event to tour the ship, stroll the magnificent deck, and to enjoy the concert, refreshments, and fireworks. Any vocal ensemble or vocalist interested in performing as a part of this concert will be required to submit audio recordings and other information that will be reviewed by the Artistic Director as part of the audition process. It is necessary that all music will be procured by the participating talent and learned prior to their arrival in Hawaii.
Choirs of all ages are welcomed to apply for participation in the Salute to Valor Music Festival. It should be noted that children’s and youth choirs will rehearse and perform along with the participating adult choirs as part of the larger mass Festival Chorus. Please contact a Classic Choir Tours representative for more information.
